This section is devoted to the idea that sometimes we as parents need to slow down a little, relax, gather our thoughts and recharge our batteries.

Family life is usually fast and furious and it sometimes seems like a constant rush between making sure that the school uniform is ironed ready for school tomorrow, desperately trying to get the kids to find and put on their shoes so that you can get out of the door, trying to get the children to clean up the mess that they have made on the floor etc etc...the list goes on for ever.  It is easy to get carried along with the rush and before you know it you have steam coming out of your ears and the blood pressure is rising!

Free Range Kids

When I think of summers as a child, I remember long days playing out on my bike, making mud pies, walking to the corner shop to get a tin of chicken soup (my favourite lunch!) cut knees, making up ghost stories about the ‘haunted’ house at the end of the road, making new friends and being called in for tea, exhausted and hungry. Fast forward to 2010 and would our children’s stories sound the same?...
