A 35 minute recipe to create a tasty apple dessert.

4 medium cooking apples

1 lemon

25g unsalted butter

25g brown sugar

75-100g sultanas

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

30ml water

1. Pre-heat oven gas mark 6, 200°C, 400°F.

2. Wash apples.

3. Put the sultanas, brown sugar, cinnamon and grated lemon zest in a bowl and mix together.

4. Place apples on a chopping board, hold them firmly and using an apple corer remove the cores.

5. Cut through the skin round the middle of each apple.

6. Place the apples in a dish and fill with the sultana mix using a teaspoon.  Put a small knob of butter on each apple.  Pour the water into the dish around the apples.

7. Bake in the middle of the oven for about 35 minutes.  The fruit should be tender but not fallen.
