F-ITNESS At Masters Academy we believe that fitness and health are the cornerstones to a happy, productive life. For this reason, all our training is geared to developing fitness and maintaining health through progressive resistance. Fitness is composed of cardio vascular fitness, strength and flexibility all of which are developed in martial arts training. Our classes are designed to gradually build fitness and skills based around sport science principles. F-UN & FRIENDLY We all like to hang out with friends and have a good time so the atmosphere at Masters Academy is kept fun, friendly and relaxed. This means we do not tolerate people with bad attitudes, bullies or massive egos. We look after each other, respect each other and encourage each other to improve. We also try to make training fun and interesting. Every session is different from the last so boredom won’t be a factor. This is especially important for children who get distracted easily, so we also incorporate lots of fun games and drills to keep the energy high and give everyone a laugh. We believe if you are not having fun why do it? As Bruce Lee once said “You should train seriously, but not seriously train”. F-UNCTIONAL SELF DEFENCE SKILLS Whilst most people start martial arts for fitness we believe that everyone who trains should also improve their ability to defend themselves as well. Therefore, training at Masters Academy includes learning self protection skills. For children this involves awareness training, escaping techniques and how to deal with bullies. For teenagers and adults we hide self defence techniques into the fitness portion of the classes so students learn them whilst getting a good sweat on.
