It’s My Party... Summer 2010
Summer’s here at last! And with it the impending 6 week summer holidays which can be an exhausting time for parents but great fun for the children.  However, keeping the children entertained during those long days can be a challenge, especially once you’ve exhausted the usual activities and choices.  Why not get your children active and channel some of their energy into a treasure hunt?

Traditionally, you may associate a treasure hunt with a special occasion for example a party, Christmas or Easter but a treasure hunt adds that little bit of extra excitement to ANY occasion and you can make a roaring success out of the most everyday occurrences by setting one up.  For instance when the children have friends over on a sunny day, you might decide to hide their picnic lunch so they’ve got to find it by following some clues or if your child has a party, you might end it by having the children following clues to find their party bags.  At Trace the Place, our aim is to make organising a treasure hunt easy and stress free and provide you with the tools to give your children a surprise they’ll love.  Our treasure hunts can be based on a child’s favourite toys, games, leisure activities, hobbies and interests, in fact anything they like because although we offer a wide range of clues to suit all ages, all the clues and hiding places can be edited so, if you want to, you can make each one personal to the hunter.

The anticipation that builds as they get closer to their treasure is not only fun to watch, it’s great fun to take part in.  We see that anticipation every year in the lead up to Christmas and making that excitement last was the inspiration behind our treasure hunts.  One Christmas morning, our children discovered that Father Christmas had hidden their presents all around the house.  They tore around the house trying to find them by following a series of clues.  Once all had been found, they could open them.  What a morning!  Handing over a present to them at Christmas has never been an option since that moment.  It’s an experience they’ve never forgotten and from that day to this, they look forward as much to their Christmas morning treasure hunt as to the presents they receive.  Our treasure hunts have evolved from this and they’re now suitable for any occasion and for anyone.  The clues and hiding places are regularly updated and we’re always interested in hearing suggestions for new ones so why not bring some extra fun into your house this summer with a treasure hunt you won’t forget.

Trace the Place is giving away 5 free treasure hunts to The Monkey Tree readers.  All you need to do is send your name and email address to The Monkey Tree and the first 5 names picked will receive an email from Trace the Place with details of how to claim their treasure hunt.  In the meantime, we invite you to take a look at our website www.tracetheplace.co.uk for ideas on how you might like to plan your treasure hunt.  Happy hunting!
